Position Overview

Impact for Equity seeks a dynamic and mission-driven Development Manager to play an integral role in fundraising, donor stewardship, event management, and development operations. Reporting to the Managing Director of Development and External Relations, the successful candidate will be an experienced and energetic professional who is passionate about fundraising and advancing our mission to end systemic injustice.

Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy

  • Work closely with the Managing Director of Development and External Relations to plan and execute annual appeals to meet and exceed revenue goals.
  • Implement donor cultivation and stewardship strategies to broaden the base of financial support for the organization.
  • Coordinate with the Managing Director of Development and External Relations to envision and execute communications strategies and vehicles that highlight the impact of our work to donors and prospective donors.

Event Management  

  • Oversee and execute fundraising and donor cultivation events from inception to completion, including venue selection, budget management, event logistics, vendor management, and event reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records of event-related data including revenue, expenses, and post-event evaluations for analysis and future planning.

Development Operations

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in comprehensive donor database, Little Green Light.
  • Manage the gift acknowledgement process to ensure timely and accurate communication with donors.
  • Assist in strategic donor cultivation and stewardship.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in development and event management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and past experience with donor information systems (e.g. – Raiser’s Edge, Virtuous, Salesforce, Little Green Light, etc.)
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
  • Solid commitment to the mission and vision of Impact for Equity with the ability to serve as a compelling ambassador for the organization, recognizing policy change happens slowly
  • Ability to travel locally and work periodic evenings and weekends as needed

Compensation and Benefits  

This is a full-time hybrid position with three days in the office. Our office is located near Millennium Park in the Loop. The salary for this position is commensurate with experience with a likely range of  $55,000 to $60,000. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 403(b) retirement plan, paid leave, and cell phone reimbursement.
