Position Overview
We are seeking an Associate Director-level candidate to join our Global Sustainability, Biodiversity & Water Practice. This is an excellent position for someone with 4 to 7 years of experience who would like to grow their experience and expertise as an advisory sales professional and work at the intersection of sustainability and global politics.
This role centers on retaining and expanding Eurasia Group’s client base by providing exceptional service and solutions on sustainability policy issues, with a focus on water stress, biodiversity loss, plastics pollution, and environmental litigation. Additionally, the position supports the Global Sustainability, Biodiversity & Water Practice on key strategic initiatives for the business. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and efficient, an excellent communicator and collaborator, comfortable engaging with clients on a daily basis, and skilled at managing multiple priorities across various time zones.
The Associate Director could be based out of Eurasia Group’s offices in the US (Washington DC, New York), UK (London), or Brazil (São Paolo).
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain knowledge of sustainability-related political risks and market developments (on a multi-region basis) to engage with and provide value to clients; develop deep client relationships with a primary focus on end-user clients.
· Create and build in-depth strategic account plans and provide support to the Global Sustainability, Biodiversity & Water Practice’s leadership in strategy planning (including new business pipeline) and major new pitches.
· Develop a strong understanding of Eurasia Group's business and become an expert in how political risks and sustainability issues fit into clients’ corporate priorities and risk process.
· Work closely and effectively with analysts, strategy teams, and all pillars of the firm as a value-added partner.
· Maintain the client servicing tracker, ensuring deliverables are tracked and managed effectively.
· Serve as a point of contact for cross-team coordination on multifaceted projects, ensuring alignment of actions.
· Create project documents such as schedules, requirements, deliverables, and stakeholder reviews to ensure successful execution.
· Maintain a comprehensive record of all Business Development (BD) documents, including funder letters, sales contracts, and project proposals.
· Maintain the Global Sustainability Practice’s BD pipeline using Salesforce, ensuring opportunity status is accurately recorded.
· Support other team leaders in sustainability-related project management across the firm.
· Identify and recommend opportunities to streamline business operations for improved efficiency.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
· 4 to 7 years prior experience in a client-facing role with experience and knowledge of multiple client types.
· Prior experience in a sales, advisory role and/or consulting with proven ability to monetize a differentiated research and advisory offering across wide range of client type preferred.
· Prior experience with strategic planning and prospecting/pitching preferred.
· Excellent interpersonal, communication/presentation, and writing skills.
· Demonstrable interest in sustainability and environmental policy issues.
· Must be a self-starter with a strong team focused mindset, problem-solving skills and high attention to details.
· Adaptability to a fast-paced work environment.
· Willingness and capacity to travel on an ongoing basis.
· Highly organized, system-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Collaborative mindset with proven experience in a coordinator role.
· Ability to troubleshoot and work effectively in an office-based environment with a hybrid work option.
· Bachelor's degree required; relevant certifications or further education are a clear plus.
Salary Range
50,000 - 96,000 USD per year (Washington DC)
