SIS is composed of three strategic pillars, including: Sustainability Strategy & Engagement, Global Impact & Investing and Mission Aligned Initiatives.

The intent of this position is to drive engagement by leadership and teams in key markets in the region to leverage the company’s sustainability strategy and pull through social investments to grow and enhance our reputation and our operational sustainability across the region.

Job Description

The Regional Social Impact & Sustainability (SIS) Director - Europe & Canada will serve as an internal consultant and expert in how to operationalize sustainability-related and social impact considerations into regional strategy as well as support markets to develop local plans that support the regional and the enterprise strategy. This role will require close collaboration and engagement with the regional leadership team. A deep knowledge of SIS’s work will be critical – including an understanding of ESG regulations and reporting requirements, and knowledge of social impact strategy and tactics. The individual will also participate in enterprise ESG initiatives, bringing forward the region view.

Responsibilities

  • Drive engagement of regional leadership to leverage the enterprise sustainability strategy and SIS programs to grow and enhance business opportunities and sustainability across the region.
  • Serve as the sustainability and SIS subject matter expert; support the integration of sustainability factors into business decision-making and share best practices across countries and in region to drive understanding and adoption.
  • Engage in regional health alliances and advocate for health system strengthening efforts through strategic partnerships with multilateral organizations, NGOs, governmental agencies and other stakeholders.
  • Deepen engagement with prioritized external stakeholders (e.g., regional multilateral organizations, NGOs, Ministries of Health, professional associations, health sector organizations) around ESG and major social investments and programs.
  • Amplify communications and engage in advocacy on sustainability and Access to Health priorities, including supporting the sustainability and scale of impact investments and health system strengthening grants.
  • Facilitate information sharing and feedback between the global and regional leadership.
  • Serve as a key regional lead to localize, operationalize, and amplify the company’s sustainability and SIS pull through.
  • Support operationalization of strategic health systems strengthening, community, product donation initiatives and grants.
  • Serve as a liaison to support coordination of our Company’s response to natural and humanitarian disasters in the region.

Capabilities Needed

  • Strong belief in win-win scenarios around access to our Company innovative and life- saving medications and disease-preventing vaccines.
  • Credibility to represent the company to external stakeholders, including governments and opinion-leading NGOs.
  • Excellent and empathetic interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to understand and manage a diverse set of issues and engage with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well as a team member and to manage through influence.
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams and motivate peers to collaborate.

Required: Degree in Public Health, International Relations and Development, Public Policy or related discipline preferred.  Financial acumen.  Excellent English writing and communications skills.  Five to seven years of experience in sustainability, corporate responsibility, public policy, or related fields.  Experience in the European region.

Preferred: Understanding of our Company’s product portfolio or pipeline highly desirable. Prior experience working directly within the region in the engagement of patient and/or public health organizations is strongly desired.

Salary & Benefits

The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected US salary range:

$164,800.00 - $259,400.00
