Pacific Premier Bank announced a plan to relieve $1 million in medical debt for veterans. The bank is partnering with ForgiveCo, an organization that buys medical debt for a lower cost in order to forgive it. The partnership will benefit 322 veterans.
Bummer of the Week:
In Southern California, more than 2000 mental health workers went on strike against Kaiser Permanente on Monday. The unionized workers and Kaiser Permanente failed to reach an agreement on a new contract in which the workers asked for increased salaries, staffing, and a restoration of pensions.
