About the Organization

Girls Who Invest (GWI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the investment management industry by attracting and advancing women investors, changemakers, and leaders. We are changing the face of investing through education, mentoring, internships, and a supportive, motivated community and have reached over 3,200 women and non-binary individuals in just nine years. We believe that creating space for women investors unlocks smart and valuable perspectives that lead to higher performance. For the individuals that we serve, GWI is a life-changing opportunity to shatter glass ceilings and a path to economic mobility that can have ripple effects on their families and communities.

GWI runs highly competitive, application-based programs - the Summer and Online Intensive Program - for first and second-year college students of all majors. Since our first program in 2016, we have seen exceptional growth with over 2,700 applicants for our 2024 programs. Our scholars have come from 49 states and over 200 different colleges & universities, studying across 100 majors and disciplines. We look for students who will be successful in the investment industry beyond their current area of study, grades, or test scores. We look for passion, intellectual curiosity, character, and lived experience.
