We've been hired by an incredible organization to run their social channels in 2025, and we're seeking talent to help build their social media community and reach gen-z and millennial audiences. The selected applicant will work on The Giddy Group team.

The selected applicant will be building a social media community for an organization that is dedicated to conserving forestland, advancing Exemplary Forestry, and promoting sustainable forest management to benefit the people, wildlife, and ecosystems of New England.

Through innovative practices and strategic partnerships, this organization safeguards forests for future generations while addressing climate change and fostering public engagement. The organization manages its own lands as demonstration sites, educates landowners, and advocates for policies that protect forest resources.

With a commitment to collaboration, diversity, and integrity, the organization strives to maximize its impact across the region and achieve lasting conservation solutions.

Job Overview

The ideal candidate is passionate about climate action, forestry, and land conservation - and you practically live on social. You know how to use social media and each platform's capabilities to build and engage online community to reach audiences on Instagram, LinkedIn, Meta, YouTube and Tikok.

Position Details

Contract: Remote, East Coast or New England location preferred

Pay: $20/hr, approx 20 hrs/mo, 5hrs/wk

Key Responsibilities

  • Community Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for online community members, responding to comments, messages, and inquiries promptly while also seeking opportunities to be at the forefront of trending and relevant topics of conversation across the social landscape.
  • Foster positive relationships with followers by addressing concerns, sharing resources, and encouraging dialogue around forestry, climate, and conservation topics.
  • Connect: We're looking to attract a gen-z and millennial audience. You'll be tasked with coming up with ideas to engage this community!
  • Brand Voice: Maintain a consistent brand voice across all interactions ensuring all communications align with our values and messaging guidelines.
  • Factual Acuracy: Ensure that all responses are accurate and well-researched, providing reliable information and correcting any misinformation.
  • Content Collaboration: Work closely with social media manager and content creator to relay community feedback and insights, helping shape future content and campaigns.
  • Crisis Management: Handle any negative comments with tact and professionalism, escalating to Customer Service and senior management when necessary.
  • Community Building: Foster a sense of community and loyalty among our followers, encouraging positive interactions and engagement.
  • Reporting: Track and report on community engagement metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

  • We are seeking individuals with knowledge in forestry, climate science, and/or land conservation. If you do not have experience in any of these areas, we kindly request that you refrain form applying.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Environmental Sience, communications, marketing or related field.

Experience

  • 1-2+ years in a support-related field (community management, or social media)
  • 1-2+ years of professional experience managing social media accounts, preferably for environmental, climate, or nonprofit organizations.

About you:

  • Interpersonal: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and build relationships with a diverse online community.
  • Organized Experience: Proven experience in community management, or social media management.
  • Skills: Excellent written communication skills with a keen eye for detail and super organized!
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, particularly Instagram, LinkedIn, Meta, Tiktok, and Youtube.
  • Research: Strong research skills to ensure factual accuracy in all communications.
  • Adaptability: Ability to handle multiple tasks and work within the pace of social media.
