Resilience.org is a program of Post Carbon Institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the world transition away from fossil fuels and build sustainable, resilient communities. Resilience.org focuses on strengthening community resilience in the face of various challenges, including the decline of cheap energy, the depletion of vital resources, climate change, loss of biodiversity, and the resulting social and economic problems. Post Carbon Institute is a small, fully remote team largely based on the US West Coast.

What You’ll be Doing | The Role

We seek a motivated individual who is passionate about sustainability issues (including climate change, renewable energy, and community resilience) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills to effectively manage various tasks that support a number of PCI’s projects and the administrative needs of the leadership team. This position is part-time (approximately 25-28 hours per week) and fully remote.

As our project support and administrative hero, you’ll be the powerhouse behind keeping things running smoothly. You’ll handle the routine (but oh-so-important) tasks that keep our numerous projects humming and leadership team free to focus on growth and big-picture goals. As part of this role, you will collaborate closely with multiple team members and report directly to the Director of Development and Events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing and Events Support
  • Support with online resilience.org event logistics, including managing online live event chat (set clear guidelines for participants, actively engage with the audience, moderate inappropriate content).
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Support
  • Salesforce: Support with basic Salesforce management, including custom configurations, reporting, and maintaining advanced Salesforce automation (Flows).
  • Monday.com: Manage a database of content providers and projects. Create and oversee various tasks.
  • Communications Support
  • Support with online marketing campaigns. Help draft and schedule emails, maintain mailing lists, and create reports in MailChimp.
  • Manage and route incoming emails.
  • Assist in management of our presence on social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Liminality Network Support
  • Support the (a global, highly diverse community of practitioners, thinkers, and influencers) Coordinating Circle through task management, agenda setting, and notetaking
  • Provide assistance with event logistics, data management, and tracking of activities and engagement

What You’ll Bring (Ideally) | The Person

  • Minimum of 2-5 years administrative and/or project support experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Salesforce (front and backend), Google Drive, MS Office, and other commonly used office software.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to collaborate.
  • Cheerful personality, good sense of humor, and ease in working with others.
  • Tech-savvy
  • Experience with Zapier, Monday.com, WordPress, and Mailchimp a PLUS.
  • A passion related to the mission of Post Carbon Institute
